That poem on spiral notebook paper you burned still exists as well. The ash broke down to microscopic particles, and scattered to the winds. In time the particles landed in a field and further decayed into molecules and atoms. The carbon atoms were then picked up by a flowering plant and used to build the cellulose fibers of its stalk, the pigment of its petals and the intelligence to turn its face to the sun.

But at least Pier 1 can’t see this and send you a piece of junk mail advertising a vase.
