Revolution is never self-defense. Revolution is war, and like war, it is politics by other means. Three quotes come to mind:

“The more there are riots, the more repressive action will take place, and the more we face the danger of a right-wing takeover and eventually a fascist society.” — Martin Luther King
Your title and premise, while not without merit, stand the chance of fanning the flames of revolution. Talk of revolution can lead to declarations of revolution, always coming from the revolutionaries, not the reactionaries. Words matter. I would ask that you choose them wisely.
