I took the central point of your piece to be that ever-increasing speed and volume of data is the problem, and that ever-better technology is not the solution. It is tempting to say “well that’s all true of old media but now things are so much better because our technology is advanced”, but that is misguided in my opinion. I don’t know the people on my FB list any more than I know the fictional characters of a TV show, and no new platform will improve my intimacy with them. We’ve all seen pictures of people around a dinner table focused on their phones. A new of different tech will not bridge that gap.

“Heaven is a library of every book ever written, eternity to sit and read, and a bottomless cup of the best coffee.”
